Associate Chief Information Officer

Wood County Hospital is seeking candidates for the available full time Associate CIO position. The Associate CIO (ACIO) is responsible for  information technology at Wood County Hospital and its wholly owned subsidiaries. The ACIO will manage the department budget and is responsible for multiple direct reports.

 

The ACIO is responsible for applications, networks, telecommunications and cybersecurity. This individual will assist in the evaluation of all software and hardware, as well as the implementation and testing prototypes.  This role is involved with ongoing risk assessments, gap analysis and vulnerability assessments. The ACIO ensures the department meets all regulatory and accreditation requirements including, The Joint Commission and HIPAA.

 

The ACIO will interface and communicate with administration to provide support of the overall business plan of the organization and ensure customer satisfaction levels.  In addition, the ACIO strategically evaluates business problems and implements solutions using decision making tools such as project plans, workflows, creating reports, and processes.  These duties will be administered in accordance with all established policies, procedures, work rules and standards.

 

This is a hands-on position that requires Cerner application experience and technical skills with a solid knowledge of Microsoft and Cisco contracts and products.

 

Required Education:

  • Graduate from a college or university with major course work in Computer Science or a related area

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years healthcare IT management experience is required

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) preferred
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) preferred
