RN - Pain Management
Bowling Green, OH
Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for an RN to work in our Pain Management department. This is a full time, day shift position working 10 hour shifts starting time between 7:00am-7:30am and ending time between 5:30pm-6:00pm. The Pain Management RN provides personal care and professional excellence with the systematic use of the nursing process in providing/directing the care of patients with acute and chronic pain.
Plans care with other members of the health care team. Checks schedule for role assignment and cases.
Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field to assure compliance with infection control (checks sterile packs for integrity; correctly opens sterile packs; observes for breaks in aseptic technique; maintains safe distance from sterile field; helps arrange sterile field; initiates action when break in aseptic occurs; preps surgical site correctly.)
Demonstrates competencies to perform procedures and use equipment competently in the care of patients undergoing procedures. Connects all equipment in the appropriate sequence. Initiates appropriate counts. Anticipates the needs of the sedation nurse, surgeon, and radiation technician.
Records patient information on appropriate documents legibly, concisely and in accordance with Wood County Hospital standards.
Graduate from an accredited school or otherwise recognized nursing program
Licensed RN in the state of Ohio. BLS and ACLS certified through the American Heart Association
Physician office and pain management experience preferred
