Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for a Registered Polysomnography Technologist. The Sleep Tech performs the process of assessment, monitoring and recording of physiologic data for the    diagnosis of sleep disordered conditions.

Job Duties:
 

  • Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing
  • Patient setups for sleep testing, i.e. application of electrodes, sensors, etc. according to standards
  • Assist with/perform routine, non-routine and complex recordings such as CPAP, Bi-level, split night studies, seizure studies, REM behavior studies, MSLT testing, routine PSG recordings & Oxygen Titration
  • Provide age-appropriate care to all children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients/clients/families served.
  • Assist with patient education regarding the sleep test.
  • Assist with routine PAP fitting and desensitization.
  • Equipment cleaning following department infection and prevention protocols and polices
  • Accurate and timely documentation of patient care and sleep testing activities
  • Performs all interventions/procedures in accordance with standards of care, policies & procedures, regulatory guidelines, and role specific competencies
  • Completes the A-Step online modules
  • Follows proper chain of command when issues/problems arise and demonstrates appropriate follow-through.
  • Displays professionalism at all times and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborates with all members of the health care team to promote a seamless patient care continuum.
  • Initiates emergency care as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift Details:

Hours: Nights, 12-hour shift 

Minimum Requirements:
High Scholl Diploma
Associates or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Complete ASTEP education and training within 6 months

Required Certifications:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) within one year of hire
  • BLS through the American Heart Association (or obtained within30 days of hire)
