Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for an RN in our ICU department.  The ICU RN provides personal care and professional excellence with the systematic use of the nursing process in providing/directing the care of general medical surgical patients who require specialized, intensive care.

Our ICU features ten new and larger rooms with technology and infrastructure enhancements that allow for advanced treatment options.

Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform immediate assessment on admission of critically ill patients
  • Performs initial assessment of patients with consideration of their biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education and discharge needs
  • Formulates nursing diagnoses and establishes nursing care plans based on admission assessment
  • Demonstrates ability to perform 12 lead EKGs and recognize major abnormalities for physician notification
  • Provides care for patients with such critical conditions as acute MIs requiring thrombolytic therapy, shock and trauma requiring intensive care, and arterial bypass, aneurysm repair and endarterectomy requiring intensive surgical care


Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Night Shift, 7p-7a

Rotating weekend and holiday coverage

Openings: 3


Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:            

  • Graduate from an accredited school or otherwise recognized nursing program

Preferred Education:            

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing

Minimum Certification:        

  • Licensed RN in the state of Ohio by the time of hire.  BLS and ACLS certified through the American Heart Association

Preferred Certification:        

  • CCRN preferred
