Director of Nursing Education and CPR Training

Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Director of Nursing Education and CPR Training. The Director of Nursing Education and CPR Training provides oversight and hands-on skill in the development and implementation of programs that support clinical competency in nursing, transition to practice (TTP) for new graduate nurses, specialized training for preceptors, orientation of new staff, and ongoing professional development.   Supervises the AHA training programs for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Serves as a resource on program development for other departments.


Job Duties:

  • Integrates evidence-based best practices in educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Maintains providership for awarding continuing education contact hours for nursing.
  • Coordinates annual, and as needed, learning needs assessments.
  • Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to develop and implement meaningful recognition programs.
  • Serves as the liaison between the Nursing Division and external educational programs for nursing students.  


Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time 40 hours/week, Exempt position

Shift: Day Shift

24/7 leadership and accountability for the clinical practice and operational functions of the department


Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Master's Degree in a healthcare related field or currently enrolled in a Master's program required
  • BSN required

Minimum License/Certification:

  • Current RN license in the State of Ohio
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of clinical nursing experience required
  • Nurse Residency or Transition to Practice experience required

Preferred Experience:

  • Vermont Nurses in Partnership(VNIP) experience preferred
