Hospital Counsel/Risk Manager

Administration - Bowling Green, OH - Full Time

The Hospital Counsel/Risk Manager provides personal care and professional excellence by advising the President (or his designee) regarding strategic and tactical legal initiatives.  

This position will:

  • Provide expert and strategic legal advice to President by evaluating and weighing multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.
  • Advise President of federal and state regulatory and compliance matters, including identifying areas of risk and making suggestions for improvement
  • Prepare, draft, and/or review agreements or contracts
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Act as HIPAA Privacy Officer.
  • Perform risk management duties including overseeing investigations, advising on risk management maters, overseeing Hospital’s malpractice captive and outside counsel.
  • May represent President in matters involving regulatory agencies or legislative bodies.

Requirements:

  •  Juris Doctor
  • Member in good standing with the Ohio Bar.
  • Five (5) years previous of legal work experience at a law-firm or in-house legal department advising health care providers on transactional and regulatory health law issues. Qualified candidates must have excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • This is an onsite role.
