Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for a Paramedic. The Emergency Department paramedic provides personal care and professional excellence by working collaboratively and cooperatively with nurses and physicians in caring for patients in the Emergency Department.
Job Duties:
Brings patients to the treatment area after evaluation by the triage nurse and at the direction of the triage nurse.
Obtains vital signs, gathers patient data and records on patient chart.
Initiate IV lines, and obtain lab specimens as needed.
Sets up suture trays and other sterile fields.
Applies dressings.
Assists with/applies orthopedic devices including but not limited to ace wraps, crutches, knee immobilizers, finger splints and wrist splints.
Assists patient with emergent needs.
Provides psychosocial support for patients and their families/significant others as needed.
Administers ACLS interventions at the direction and supervision of the attending physician.
Shift Details:
Hours: 12 hours per week
Shift: Afternoons 1045-2315 / Weekend and holiday shift rotation required
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Graduate from a Paramedic Training Program.
Minimum Certification:
Certification as EMT-P
Certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS required
