Wood County Hospital is accepting applications for a Medical Assistant in our Pain Management department. The Medical Assistant provides personal care and professional excellence by assisting with office clerical and clinical functions in the pain management department.

Job Duties:

  • Collects patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assists the physician in medical procedures and medical treatment modalities.
  • Collects and delivers specimens to the Laboratory.
  • Performs other clinical activities within the scope of practice and competency of the medical assistant role.
  • Assists with patient record preparation and filing.
  • Performs insurance information reviews.

Shift Details:

Hours: Part Time, 24 hours per week

Shift: Day Shift / No on-call, weekends or holidays

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program.

Minimum Certification:        

  • Registration (RMA) or Certification (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants, American Registry of Medical Assistants,  the American Medical Technologists or another certifying or registering organization that is accredited by the International Organization for Standardization(ISO) or the National Center for Competency Testing(NCCT) required.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Minimum Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant required

Preferred Experience:

  • Pain Management, Physician Office, Ambulatory Surgery or Emergency Department experience preferred
